Do you have time to sit down with your little one and read the afternoon away? Maybe someone has taken ill with a cold - it is that season after all. Nothing eases a cold like chicken noodle soup and an enchanting tale of three cousins who live in their auntie's attic and start their own cookie business. Just plump up the pillows, pull up the covers and snuggle up into this story together.
This is the first book in a series of six. It's an easy read and inspires entrepreneurship and innocent matchmaking. Oh yes, there is a hint of romance intertwined in the adventures of Lily, Tess and Rosie...not too much, just enough to amuse your nine year old daughter and maybe her mother.
I'm eagerly awaiting the next book - hoping I come down with a bit of a sniffle so I may tuck myself somewhere cosy where the sunlight can peek over my shoulder and follow along. I will definitely keep this book on my shelf for when my youngest get old enough to appreciate it.
A word of caution...this book may trigger an uncontrollable urge to bake cookies. Just thought I'd give you the heads up.
